1/11/14 BIBLE PASSAGE (Deuteronomy 30,31)
God promised to bless Israelites if they obey his laws, but he also promised to punish them if they disobey him. The Creator promised to displace Israelites from the Promised Land and scatter them throughout the world if they serve idols. However, Jehovah gave room for repentance; he would forgive Israelites if they realize their sins and repent from them. He promised to restore them from the foreign nations that he might have scattered them as a result of their sins, and bring them back to the land of their heritage – which he has promised their forefathers. God said, “Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you, and you return to the Lord your God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you. If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you. Then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live” (Deuteronomy 30:1-6).
God is merciful and forgiving; he will not cast out his children forever. If any sinner repents from his sins, God would forgive him. The Creator will restore a fallen Christian, and he would reaffirm his unconditional love towards him. Therefore, since God is interested in good welfare of his children, all people should come closer to him. We should all accept salvation gifts offered by his Son Jesus Christ. We should repent from our sins, and we should dearly obey his laws and commandments. It is certain that our heavenly father will bless us with multiple benefits if we remain loyal to him.
Dear God, please make me your good steward who satisfies your heart desires at all time. Do not let me sin. Also, help me to repent from my sins whenever I wrong you. Let me maintain good relationship with you, and let me enjoy your benefits throughout the days of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
