1/13/14 BIBLE PASSAGE (Deuteronomy 32,33,34)
Moses – the servant of God – wrapped-up his leadership duties among Israelites, and he bided them farewell with counseling and prayers. Moses advised Israelites to circumspectly walk with God and please him. He also called out Israelites tribe by tribe, and he pronounced blessing on them. Moses blessed each Israel’s tribe and said, “Let Reuben live, and not die, Nor let his men be few.” And this he said of Judah: “Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, and bring him to his people; Let his hands be sufficient for him, and may you be a help against his enemies.” And of Levi he said: “Let Your Thummim and Your Urim be with Your holy one, Whom You tested at Massah, And with whom You contended at the waters of Meribah, Who says of his father and mother, ‘I have not seen them’; Nor did he acknowledge his brothers, Or know his own children; For they have observed Your word And kept Your covenant… Of Benjamin he said: “The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him, Who shelters him all the day long; and he shall dwell between His shoulders.” And of Joseph he said: “Blessed of the Lord is his land, With the precious things of heaven, with the dew, And the deep lying beneath, With the precious fruits of the sun, With the precious produce of the months, With the best things of the ancient mountains, With the precious things of the everlasting hills, With the precious things of the earth and its fullness, And the favor of Him who dwelt in the bush. Let the blessing come ‘on the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers…” (Deuteronomy 33:6-29).
God’s blessings will rest and abide with people who faithfully serve God. It is a plausible fact to know that God’s angels will watch over people of God. Storms of life may arise against God’s children, but the heavenly Father will definitely put them under control. Also, the descendants of people who serve God will inherit goodness. They will live to enjoy God’s benefits from generations to generations. Therefore, all people are advised to trust God and reserve their faith in him – since he is the only deity who has the audacity to give lasting prosperity.
Dear God, I understand that you usually bless people and make them rich by your grace; I want to enjoy the same benefits from you also. Therefore, I am determined to be your faithful child. I confess my faith in your Son Jesus Christ, and I accept him into my life as my personal Lord and Savior. From now on, I will faithfully serve you. I pray that you please keep me fit to enjoy your benefits always. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
