 1/17/14 BIBLE PASSAGE (Joshua 4,5,6)

From Joshua:

God instructed Israelites to use rare tactic to defeat Jericho City. He instructed them to march around the fortified walls of Jericho for seven days, and they must shout and blow trumpets at the end of their last march. God said to Joshua the Israelites leader, “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor. You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days. And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. It shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him” (Joshua 6:2-5). Israelites carried out the tactic as instructed, and it worked. The walls of Jericho fell, and they were able to defeat its dwellers (Joshua 6:20-21)

On rare occasions, God can instruct his children to do rare things that would provoke his overwhelming blessings upon them. Meanwhile, it takes spiritual sensitivity to tap into such rare blessings. Therefore, children of God must be in constantly contact with the Holy Spirit so that they would not be caught unaware. All Christians must be ready to instantly follow God’s leading and guidance, so that we they can enjoy his rare signs and wonders.

Dear God, please help me to be sensitive in the Holy Ghost at all times. Let me yield my total life unto you, and let me follow your instructions whenever you lead – so that I can enjoy your unmerited grace and favor on earth. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
