1/20/14 BIBLE PASSAGE (Luke 9:37-62)
Jesus Christ alerted his disciples about the dangers that their group would confront: A friend would betray him, and the enemies would persecute him. Jesus said, “Let these words sink down into your ears, for the Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men. “But they did not understand this saying, and it was hidden from them so that they did not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask Him about this saying” (Luke 9:44-45). Unfortunately for Jesus’ disciples, they could not connect with the reality of what their master told them. Rather than considering intercessory prayers to ward off evil, the disciples were busy arguing about positions, they competed and claimed superiority over one another. In fact the scripture exposed their behaviors and stated, “Then a dispute arose among them as to which of them would be greatest. And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a little child and set him by Him, and said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me receives Him who sent me. For he who is least among you all will be great” (Luke 9:46-47).
Children of God always have options to be spiritually sensitive; if we do not, the enemies may seize the opportunity to rub us of many blessings. To remain spiritually sensitive, we must pray consistently, and we must daily study scriptures.
Dear Jesus Christ, please help me to be spiritually sensitive. Let me be filled with your Holy Spirit, and let me maintain consistent attitude of praying and fasting before you, so that I can always have upper hands over my adversaries. Please bless me and let me grow in grace and anointing to satisfy you at all times. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
