12/23/13 BIBLE PASSAGE (Luke 2:25-52)

From Luke:

Virgin Mary who carried Jesus Christ in her womb for nine months had some rough interactions with him – since he was not an ordinary child. At least, every parent would want his or her child to grow normally – but Jesus’ case was different. Unlike other children, Jesus was getting mature faster that his age. At age twelve, he escaped from his parents’ shelter to sit in the temple and teach the elders. He fearlessly confronted the elders and taught them the mystery of God’s kingdom. However, when the exhausted Mary finally found Jesus in the temple, he simply told her, “Why did you seek me? Did you not know that I must be about my Father’s business?” (Luke 2:49).

Jesus Christ is the perfect example that all people must follow – in order to adequately serve God. All Christians are expected to seriously engage in God’s businesses without fear. We must focus on satisfying God at all cost – even when it appears that our decisions have become irrational. No one can satisfy God when he or she allows distractions; therefore, we must avoid distractions at all costs!

Dear Jesus Christ, I understand that you are the perfect example that all people must follow; please give me grace to follow you, so that I will fulfill my heavenly mandate. Anoint me to pursue your purpose, and empower me to succeed in it. Please let me faithfully serve you unto the end, so that I can receive your imperishable crowns in heaven. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
